Miguel Faustmann, Encantadia 2005’s Bathalang Emre, dies at 67

Theatre, film, and television actor Miguel Faustmann, who made guest appearance as Bathalang Emre in at least two episodes of the original Encantadia’s first book (2005), has passed away.

His demise was confirmed by his brother Juan Luis Faustmann through a Facebook post May 17. The post said, “We are deeply saddened we have lost our brother Miguel who passed away peacefully in his sleep on the 15th May. We will share more information on his memorial service in the coming days.”

ENCANTADIA 2005 APPEARANCE

Miguel Faustmann was the first ever actor who portrayed the role of Bathalang Emre, the god worshipped by the Diwata, Sapiryan, and Adamyan races in the world of Encantadia. (The role was then played by Raymond Bagatsing in the original series’ second book, Etheria, and by Zoren Legaspi in the requel.)

Faustmann’s first appearance as Emre was in the episode where he appeared before Amihan (Iza Calzado) and Ybarro (Dingdong Dantes) in a dream sequence of the two characters, telling Ybarro that he is Ybrahim and commanding the Sapiryan prince to obey his order or what is destined.

In a succeeding episode, Pirena (Sunshine Dizon) disguised as Emre himself in order to take the Water Gem from a devastated Alena.

Just like how Encantados bid farewell to their dead, we bid Miguel Faustmann, Voya Pring Devas (Maligayang paglalakbay sa kabilang buhay). Thank you for sharing the Encantadia journey with us, sir.
