Bianca Umali and Angel Guardian revealed new information about their Encantadia characters, Terra and Deia

One lives a superhero persona in the human world, and the other is perhaps not a Sang’gre at all. What?!

Two of the highlights of ManiPopCon 2023 were the presence of the cast of Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre and an exclusive teaser reveal of the said 2024-slated Kapuso telefantasya.

During the event, Kapuso host Martin Javier asked Bianca Umali, Faith Da Silva, Kelvin Miranda, and Angel Guardian about who their characters are.

Here’s what Bianca explained about her character, Terra, the new protector of the Brilyante ng Lupa (Earth Gem):

“

[Si Terra] ay [nakatira] sa mundo ng mga tao at doon siya magsisimula bilang isang superhero. Hindi niya inakala na nananalaytay pala sa dugo niya ang pagiging isang Sang’gre.

At hindi niya rin alam na siya ang nakasaad sa propesiya na nakatakdang tagapagligtas at makatatalo sa bagong [tangka] at kalaban ng Encantadia na si Mitena.

”

Nice, because this is a fresh take on the lost princess trope of Encantadia. Terra’s story will not be like Lira’s.

Bianca’s revelation comes with the affirmation that Terra is a Sang’gre, a royal-blooded Diwata, the lost daughter of Sang’gre Danaya. (Well, she should be since this is the exact premise of the series.)

But this is in extreme contrast to Angel Guardian’s statement about Deia who was officially tagged as the new keeper of the Brilyante ng Hangin (Air Gem):

“

Si Deia ay hindi talaga galing sa mundo ng Encantadia. Siya ay galing sa Mine-a-ve at reyna niya si Mitena. Pero si Deia ay hindi bulag na tagasunod. Kinukuwestiyon niya ang method ng sarili niyang reyna at mga kalahi niya.

It’s her heart. Yung pagiging mabuti niyang puso ang magiging rason para maging deserving siyang tagapangalaga ng Brilyante ng Hangin.

”

It’s interestingly crazy because what Angel said posits that Deia may not be a Sang’gre at all, right?

Deia’s case of keeping a Brilyante is akin to how Paopao (a human), Deshna (a Hathor-Diwata-Sapiryan mix), Ariana (a Punjabwe-a), and Muyak (a Lambana) were chosen to protect the Gems.

Now, the question is: is Cassandra, a Sang’gre by blood, the anticipated successor of Amihan’s Gem, not of pure heart? And where is she?
